Adjust settings to print index cards using Word
Level Message 3 of 3. Paper type. Load the media as shown on pages of the user guide here.
The media will need to loaded with the 3" wide side fed into the printer. Be sure to select the proper media type card stock and paper size in the driver.

I already had a filemaker database, where I can create, edit sort und perfectly print out A7 index cards. I used word, pages, textedit and writeroom for writing my manuscripts and iphoto for my picture collections. Scrivener provided me with the opportunity to have all these information on a project I write novels, so we are talking about up to physical index cards - sorry about the trees within one flexible application.
The problem is, that Scrivener's index cards seem to have a built in fixed size, that won't adjust to custom paper formats.

It is not an "overrun" problem of too long entries - as you can see in my screenshot - e. Regards, Peter. Quote Wed Feb 19, am Post After heaving read a lot of older posts on this forum, it seems to me, that Scrivener uses 3x5 cards whatever that is in mm by default - the question is: can this be changed? Quote Wed Feb 19, pm Post Yes.
See section Contact robertdguthrie. Quote Wed Feb 19, pm Post I think you may be right that it assumes a 3x5 inch format. I had defined the paper size as something larger US Letter?

Would require a bit of finagling the first time, but as a saved compile preset, it wouldn't be much harder than setting things up for a 3x5 index card print-out. Often wrong, rarely in doubt. Time for a change I'm now rdale; same dog-avatar, same dog Quote Wed Feb 19, pm Post Thank you, druid, for really trying to help me! Thank you, Robert, for further input. Other program users should navigate to the envelopes and labels setting for their program. Choose either "Avery " or "Avery " from the label size to set up the page size for one index card.
Or choose " Avery " for three cards of that size. These labels are 3 inches by 5 inches, so selecting this size will configure the printer to print onto your paper or index card. You don't need to be using Avery labels, but you do need to select those label sizes since they tell the printer to print on a 3-byinch size.
Click "OK" to save the preferences. In Microsoft Word, click on "New Document" to open a 3-byinch document and begin entering your information.
Turn on your printer.
